We love anything that adds a good tang. Quick pickled onions are a beautiful addition to tacos, nourish bowls, salads, soups, hummus – almost anything is fair game. Use them to brighten up a dish, balance out spicy food, or pack a flavorful punch, all while adding some beautiful color to your meal.
Quick pickled onions require just a few super simple ingredients from your pantry.
- Red onion
- Vinegar – we normally use white, but love using apple cider too. You could also try red wine vinegar
- Salt
- Sugar
These come together in truly just a few minutes. Allow them to marinate for at least 20 minutes. We’d recommend making them before you get started prepping your meal, and then by the time whatever you’re making is finished cooking, the onions will be ready. The onions will last around a week in the fridge.
